Adrenal Fatigue Ayurvedic Treatment and Home Remedies

1. Salt

Adrenal fatigue adversely affects the aldosterone hormone that regulates water and salt levels in the body. The depletion of salt level drops the blood pressure and leads to dizziness. To treat adrenal fatigue, you should increase consumption of unrefined salt as it contains ample trace minerals. You can use rock salt or Celtic sea salt.

Instead, add 1/2 to 1 tsp of unrefined salt in a glass of filtered water. Drink this solution in the morning to avail its benefits.
Note: Although drinking salt water provides instant relief, but it may cause vomiting in some cases.

2. Lemon

Adrenal glands secrete a hormone called aldosterone that normalizes water level in your body. Adrenal fatigue hinders the working of these glands that causes dehydration, anxiety, stress, depression, and low energy. Lemon helps hydrate the lymph system and maintains pH balance of your body. Mix the juice of half a lemon and a pinch of celtic salt to a glass of warm water. Drink it every morning to treat adrenal fatigue.

3. Spinach

Spinach contains B vitamins and potassium in abundance that improves the working of adrenal glands. Thus, energizes the metabolism. Include spinach in your everyday diet to fix adrenal fatigue. It will keep you energized throughout the day.

4. Meat

Red and white meat induces cholesterol production in the body. This cholesterol is one of the building blocks of the hormones secreted by adrenal glands. Instead of a vegan diet, meats are more beneficial to adrenal health.

5. Bone Broth

Bone broth is an ancient remedy to get all the essential nutrients. Bone marrow reduces inflammation, improves the immune system and boosts production of healthy cholesterol. It is rich in vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. You can consume bone broth for a better adrenal health.

6. Peppers

Peppers are a rich source of vitamin C. When stressed; we tend to consume vitamin C much faster than normal. Thus, to treat adrenal fatigue, it is necessary to have an abundance of vitamin C. Also, it helps lower the stress hormone cortisol.

7. Fermented Drinks

Fermented drinks increases absorption of nutrient in your body and improve the working of the digestive system. They are a rich source of minerals and boost your immunity. You can have kvass, kombucha, and other fermented drinks to enhance the functioning of adrenal glands.

8. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are an important part of adrenal fatigue diet. Many of us have a deficiency of these nutrients, and we hardly know about it. The imbalance between omega-3 and omega-6 causes increased inflammation which boosts cortisol production. Fish and seafood are the most common sources of omega-3 fatty acids.

9. B Vitamins

These B vitamins are helpful in improving the immune system. Vitamin B5 helps break down fats, protein and carbohydrates while vitamin B12 helps energy production. You can include whole grain cereals, fish, corn, salmon, eggs and dairy products to enhance the intake of B vitamins.

10. Magnesium

The deficiency of magnesium causes fatigue and depression. This mineral helps you get a restful sleep, maintains the flow of energy, reduces sugar craving, and lessen other symptoms of adrenal fatigue. Include green leafy vegetables, other foods that contain high magnesium content to normalize the magnesium level.

Note: Don’t consume too much of magnesium as it may adversely affect your digestive system.

11. Probiotics

Probiotics improve the digestive system. They extract more nutrients from the food we eat and also prevent regular illness by supporting our immune system. Yogurt and soft cheese are the most common sources of probiotics.

Note: Avoid dairy products if you are allergic to them.

12. Stay Hydrated
