1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which make it a great natural remedy for a toothache. It has acetic acid and malic acid which purifies and detoxifies your infected tooth. It also balances pH level of your mouth that fights tooth decay. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and keep on your affected tooth or gum for some minutes. For satisfactory results repeat it 3-4 times a day.
Note – If it feels too strong for you, dilute it by adding some water.
2. Saline Water
You can use saline water which is one of the easiest methods to get relief from a toothache. Salt takes off the fluid from the swollen tissue of gums. It has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that reduce swelling and pain and also combat bacteria which lead to infection. Mix 1tsp salt in a glass of warm water, swirl it around your mouth and spit out. Repeat the process till it gives you comfort.

- If the pain becomes intolerable, visit a dentist.
- Gargle with warm saline water.

- Floss teeth to remove food particles trapped in teeth.
- Apply oral numbing gels.
- Apply ice packs for swelling.
- If some food particles get trapped between teeth, clean them gently with dental floss.
- Consult your doctor before applying any antiseptic cream on affected tooth.
DON’TS
- Let a painful tooth resolve itself.
- Placing aspirin directly on the tooth, gums and cheeks.
- Having sweet foods and hot/cold drinks.
