Swelling of feet and ankle is experienced by many of us. Pregnant women are the most likely to suffer from it. The factors that contribute to it are overweight, standing for long hours, long drives, menstrual periods, deficiency of potassium in the body, fluid retention, or minor injury.

HOME REMEDIES TO TREAT ANKLE AND FEET SWELLING
1. Leg Elevation and Cold Compress
One of the easiest and helpful remedies is leg elevation exercise. All you have to do is to stretch and elevate your legs in front of yourself. While elevating the leg, tie an ice pack on the feet with the help of a clean towel. Repeat the process to get relief from swelling.
2. Vinegar
Vinegar helps relieve the feet pain, caused by swelling. Take vinegar and water in equal parts and boil them. Soak a towel in the solution, and wrap around the feet for about 5 minutes. Repeat the process 4-5 times a day.
Alternatively, Apple cider vinegar can also be used for this purpose.
3. Cucumber
Cucumber has the property of absorbing the fluids, which eventually decreases the healing time. Cut a thin slice of cucumber and tie it on the feet with the help of a bandage.
4. Lecithin Seeds
If you’re experiencing feet and ankle swelling for a very long period, then taking lecithin seeds can help you a lot. Take about 4 tablespoons of lecithin seeds for 2-3 months regularly.
5. Feet Soak
This is one of the oldest and most effective remedies to reduce swelling. Soak your feet in chilled water for about fifteen minutes. Along with swelling, it will also relieve the pain.
Or else, you can soak the feet in cold and warm water alternately, for a two-minute interval.
6. Mustard Oil
A daily massage with mustard oil can help relieve the pain and swelling of the feet. You can also heat it up a little to get quick relief.
7. Epsom Salt
Epsom salt is well-known for reducing swelling. Fill a tub or bucket with warm water and add half a cup of Epsom salt to it. Dip your feet in it, and you will feel the miraculous change.
8. Rotate the Ankle
In order to induce more blood flow, it is recommended that you rotate the ankle 10 times every half an hour in clockwise and anticlockwise directions, alternatively. It will eventually reduce the pressure and pain of the ankle.
9. Magnesium Sulfate
Magnesium sulfate considerably reduces the recovery time for your feet. Add a pinch of magnesium sulfate powder in a bowl of cold water. Soak a towel in the water and dab it on your feet. Keep repeating the process for about 20 minutes, daily.

11. Molasses and Fennel Drink

Add a few drops of lavender oil in a bucket of lukewarm water. Soak in it for half an hour daily. It will provide relief to your feet.
