Sometimes your movements are harder and you have acute joint pains and swelling. Can this be warning sign or indication of degenerative arthritis?

The word comes from greek - "arthir" (joint) and "itis (inflammation). Arthritis is a joint disorder caused by inflammation. Symptoms are pain and discomfort restricting your movements.

There are two main types of diseases of the joints. Let's pay a little more attention to:

Osteoarthritis
Cartilage forms protective substance toward the end of your bones, where they are binded to the joints. When the cartilage between the joints begins to wear out, your body tries to solve the problem by producing bone formations (by stretching or contraction of the tendons) - this is what causes the pain.

Osteoarthritis is an inflammation of the bones and  joints, usually appearing in elderly people, but can also be hereditary, due to injury or it may appear in obese people.

Rheumatoid arthritis

The exact cause of rheumatoid arthritis still remains a mystery, but according to many experts it’s an inflammatory "response" of the body, where the immune system reacts instantly to inflammatory infections. It has the same symptoms as osteoarthritis, but makes joints swollen, fragile.

Treatment and Side Effects

As often happens, patients suffering from arthritis are on the losing side when it comes to side effects and commercial treatment.
One of the particularly shocking statistic shows that patients spend one third of their monthly incomes to treat stomach ailments, caused by arthritis medicines. So, why not to looking for alternative treatments with herbs and home remedies, with no side effects.

Herbal treatment for for joint pain

Chilli

That is a powerful herb with anti-inflammatory effect. It is proved that the red pepper delaying the symptoms of arthritis. It brings relief in joints by stimulating the release of endorphins in the body.

Ginger
Two out of three people, (regularly used highly concentrated doses of ginger) reported a reduction in pain. Ginger is also a great anti-inflammatory remedy (with his warming effect on the joints), leading to rapid pain relief.

Sage (salvia tea)
It helps clearing toxins and free radicals from the body, and  has important antioxidant properties. It also contains volatile oils, which are known to have healing properties.

Boswellia (or known as Indian frankincense)
This herb helps connective tissue to heal itself by keeping the blood circulation in the body, improving our  mobility, taking down the flow in the joints. Also it has anti-inflammatory effect.

Bay leaf purifies joints

Take 5gr. bay leaves and put them to boil about five minutes in 300 ml of water. Leave aside the mixture for four hours in a tightly closed container. Drink small sips within 12 hours! Repeat the same procedure within three days, by eating only vegan / vegetarian food.

Old folk recipe for joint pain

Grate some wild chestnuts (remove those that are spoiled). Put them in a jar and fill up with camphor spirits. Close it very well and leave it in the sun. On the sixth day open the jar and add a teaspoon of sal ammoniac (ammonium chloride )and one teaspoon of refined sulfur (from the drug store). Close the jar again very well and leave it for two more days in the sun, stirring occasionally. On the seventh day add a table spoon of turpentine. Use this ointment over the affected joints.

Compress relieving  inflammations in joints
Grate one kg. of carrots very fine. Make a compress covering the affected area.
Firstly, put a nylon in order to not run out the juice and then apply the grated carrots. Wrap it up with gauze or cloth (tight bandage) and leave the compress from of 24 to 48 hours.
